This Minuet, incorrectly cataloged as BWV Anh. 114, is from a suite for harpsichord by German composer and organist Christian PETZOLD, here transcribed for guitar in A major.
Through its appearance in 1725 in the second Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach, it used to be attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach.

Here you can see the old (good) spider exercise BUT in this case, it is dynamic: you must move your hand one fret forward and one fret backwards every time you move to another string, alternatively.

In this video, I do 1324 but you can do it with all the combinations: 1234/4321, 1243/3421, 1324/4231, 1423/3241 and so on.

In this part of the Allemande from Suite BWV 1009

In this part of the Allemande from Suite BWV 1009 by Bach I used in some specific parts, as abbellimento, the "trillo on two strings" I introduced you in the last black and white video I posted here on my Instagram... Just to give you a practical (and musical) example of the technical exercise.

This kind of trillo reminds the trillo on the harpsichord, so some guitarists, who want to remind the harpsichord approach, they prefer this specific abbellimento instead of the typical mordente with legato, used above all on the lute; and vice-versa of course.

It depends on you, on your approach and idea of baroque music on guitar. You could decide to use it on guitar transcriptions from harpsichord and use the other one on guitar transcriptions from lute. Or you can decide to use it always on your baroque interpretation or to dose it, using it only on some specific parts like the end of some specific musical sentences.

Anyway, in my opinion, you can find very good use of it listening to the great Paul Galbraith and David Russell for example.
